My name is Naomi Courtney and I am currently studying a BTEC in Art and Design at Pendleton College, Salford.

I would like to study Fine Art at University as I love the subject and eventually would
like to become a Fine Art teacher. I feel passionate about my chosen subject, as I love creating things and enjoy exploring different ways of making and transforming images. I am especially interested in drawing and like to experiment with different types of mark making in my free time. I especially like using fine liner and pencil.

I believe that I excel in this subject and would love the opportunity to take it further. I would like to work on bigger scales and experiment with different medias, this is why I know that a path in Fine Art is best suited to me.

My favourite Fine Artist is Jenny Saville, I like her because I like the style she uses and the personality she puts across in her work as it is very interesting, especially in her paintings. I also like Mervyn Peake, he is an illustrator but his work is very detailed and his style is similar to mine.

The images I have included on this blog vary from collagraph prints, detailed sketches, photography, paintings and evidence of a 3D skill base. I am a very enthusiastic student and I am prepared to work really hard, I look forward to entering a world of new ideas and opportunity. I am excited to be able to explore my skills and express myself in new found ways; also I feel that I would bring a lot to the course as I am not afraid to try new things.

I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
